My name is Ashanti Nedrick and as you may know, I am a SEEK student here at CCNY. I am from Brooklyn, New York but originally from Upstate NY. I come from a small family in which college wasn’t really a goal that was ever achieved. After being a high school graduate in 2020, I decided that college was the next step for me.  Being a biology major is difficult and challenging, but it’s the challenge that drives me to maintain focus, do my best and work hard for a good grade which is part of the reason why I choose it as my major. I chose biology because it directs me towards the medical field. I choose biology as my major because it’s the major that comes with obstacles in which I am not afraid to accept failure and learn from my mistakes. I hope that in the future, I am a great doctor and that I enjoy being a doctor. I hope that I help people in need in the future and inform people about health issues and alternatives to things that people are unknown to. I want to explore other parts of the world and help people who can’t get the help that they need. I hope to help my family and become someone that they can depend on.
